Autumn budget 2024 response

In Labour’s first budget since 2010, Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced tax rises to fund the NHS and other public services.

The social care sector received an extra £600m in funding to local authorities for adult and children’s social care. However, care providers have warned that this would have little impact and fail to reduce the financial pressures many are already facing.

Tim Davies, CEO comments, “While the additional £600m allocated to social care is welcome news for both patients and care providers. The social care system is already stretched, and it remains important for families to make sure they receive funding they are entitled to. For the last ten years we’ve been supporting families in navigating the complex continuing healthcare funding process. Our mission is to raise awareness of NHS Continuing Healthcare and to help more families secure the funding they need to continue to pay for their care.”
